These vintage shakers have a little provenance in the form of a piece of tape on the bottom that the previous owners put there. I don't know if the shakers are from 1981, or if that is when the prior owners acquired them. They are lined with plastic to keep your condiments safe, and open by applying a firm pressure to the sides. Great condiment shakers that will last for literally generations. A memorable gift item.
